Today in our new Friday special WhoWoreWhat post- which will be a weekly treat from now on- we are bringing our dear readers a nice dose of Weather Envy. For those unfamiliar with the concept, Weather Envy occurs when it’s raining cats and dogs outside and you are stuck indoors looking at pictures of tanned celebs having Fun in the Sun.
It has rained all week in London, so compiling this Cannes-themed WhoWoreWhat post was an exercise in self-flagellation, and I loved every minute of it.
So without further a do, prepare to get well-jell at these dresses:
J-Law here has been behaving very badly this week. She allegedly cracked a ‘rape joke‘ at a party, and even though she thought she would not be overheard, those are NEVER okay. She has not confirmed it, or apologised, and it really is just gossip so far. I hope it isn’t true because I really really love this Dior she wore in Cannes last Saturday. It is simple, beautiful, and I love the Window to Narnia on her chest. Also, this hair length is great on her. Also I love her. Please Jen, don’t crack anymore rape jokes and let me continue admiring/loving you. Thanks, bubs.
Christina Hendricks is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, in my humble opinion. I love her shape, her face- but most of all I LOVE that flaming red hair. I do know that she often struggles to find dresses that compliment her amazing figure- but I blame designers for not catering to real women, and focusing on stick-thin models. This Alberta Ferretti is wonderful on her, though. It fits her like a glove and does not squash those magnificent breasts, which is what usually happens to Christina on the red carpet. The film she is in, Ryan Gosling‘s Lost River, has been universally panned, but at least she looks nice.
This week’s GLAMAZON however, is the incredible Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who looked like a silver mermaid in this Roberto Cavalli show-stopper. There is nothing else to say: she rules. This dress rules.
Now because there is not a lot of Casual Inspiration at Cannes because everyone is bringing their A-game, I picked a couple of my fave OOTD blogs of the week. First up Tuula, from Tuula Vintage.
Now, I am a super Tuula enthusiast, and this is no different. The Australian blogger knocked it out of the park with this simple Asos white shift, and SUPER ON-TREND sandals. Perfect for a warm day outside. But what really makes this outfit is the embellished Star Mela clutch. Divine.
You don’t need me to tell you that Aimee, from Song of Style, always rocks it with the casual-chic looks, do you? Well, SHE DOES. Aimee is based in LA, so her sunny-weather wardrobe is second to none. The Topshop skort really brings the best out of the casual denim shirt, in this look, and she looks ready for the beach or a casual pool-side lunch.
Also, these are great Spring toes. Man I wish I lived in LA.
